A Beautiful Quote

At a singer and songwriter night in Nashville, the guitarist stepped up to the microphone and described the inspiration for their most recent song. Yes, a quote from a popular television show. Despite critics describing the writing as the best in television history, I never finished a single season of The Office. Too close to home. Yet, the following quote is thought provoking:

“I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days before you’ve actually left them.” Andy Bernard

I agree, we have a tendency to think of the old times as the greatest part of our lives. It’s a trap of sorts, isn’t it? How do you escape?

Write your thoughts down. Your tasks. What you want to accomplish in life. Why you want to accomplish it. What was great about the day? What wasn’t? How do you describe your life’s direction? And then, months later, after the job is over (or before taking a new one) look back and ponder.

The mind can be deceiving. We do choose our own reality. Are you living the life you chose? Are you living the life that chose you?

When to start?

No time like the present.
